Expecting a quiet day to himself, Anders let the gentle breezes and warm rays of the sun to wash over him completely- leaving him relaxed, but vulnerable. Within the slow blink of his eyes, a small blue creature had skidded to a stop just in front of him,"FUCK!" Anders jumped back, shouting out a crude word unfitting of a prince such as himself.

At a nearby tree, a flock of Starly took flight into the blue sky above.

Stopping dead in his tracks, the feeling of dread clawed right back into his head as the Electrike- panting happily at the prospect of perhaps a friendly stranger- and Anders locked eyes,"N-N-No-Now I don-don't want any trouble-" The blue-haired beauty put his arms up as a way of surrendering, beginning to back away slowly but shakily as beads of sweat collected on his brow. A rock- so small and unassuming just seconds before- found it's way underneath the man's heeled boot and brought him tumbling backwards to the ground. Unbeknownst to the coward, it would be an invitation in for the canine as he pounced forward onto Ander's, who automatically assumed that this would be the last sky he saw before his untimely demise to a Electrike. He would be killed with... cuteness? The Pokemon nuzzled it's way through the man's sorry attempt at blocking it from coming any closer, licking at his face.

The 'souvenirs' given to Anders from the safari warden rolled out of his pocket, coming just into view at the corner of his eye. In that instant- the seconds between life and death- the realization dawned on the cowardly beauty.

Fenn had set him up. That bastard.

Quickly grabbing for one of the safari balls, Anders lifted it to the Electrike's curious snout and prayed this would be enough to stop it's onslaught of slobbery kisses.

Watching with eyes widened as the Electrike was shrouded in that familiar light, Anders immediately dropped the camouflaged ball from his shaking hand and scurried to his feet. After a series of wiggles that made his heart sink with each teeter, the Pokeball stayed still. With much hesitation, the blue-haired beauty would reach down and pick it up, looking at what he had thought to be a simple souvenir moments ago with the anxiety inside him finally quieting down,"Well, that was... unexpected." He'd say to himself, slipping the ball into the opposite pocket as the other two empty ones that remained.

The thought of walking out right now crossed his mind.

There wasn't anything stopping him from turning around and stepping through the gate that was still in his sights. Every part of his body wanted to bolt over and never think of this place again- once a paradise, now filled with nightmares. Melodramatic as he was, Anders stayed,"I'm never going to be a Ranger if I leave." Words formed from his innermost thoughts of failure, the blue-haired beauty trekked on.

A bit of time passed, and a tiny purple rat began to pass the trail in front of him. Anders would freeze, staring at the creature completely still as it simply crossed to the other side. It was a better response, but still not what he wanted. Sighing, he'd promise himself to at least let the Pokemon acknowledge him before continuing his walk

After the rat had passed him, Anders breathed a sigh of relief. Continuing down the path, the blue-haired beauty would thumb around at the filled Pokeball in his pocket. What would be a good name for it, he thought, bringing a nervous hand up to palm at the back of his neck. Naming would have to come later, as a Shinx- he finally knew the name of this one, as Fenn had raised a litter of them years ago- stretched out the remainder of a nap from it's legs at the base of a tree nearby. With it's attention not on the prince, Anders slowly brought his hand down from his neck to slip it into his pocket for one of the camouflaged balls he had left.

Throwing it a bit too hard, the ball would hit the tiny cat on the side of the face. It would snap its focus to Anders with an anger growing in it's eyes just before the familiar red light surrounded it's form. He... would have to deal with that later.
